Vestibular Balance Dizziness

What is it?

People presenting with vertigo or vestibular disorders often have dizziness, visual disturbance and balance problems. Other problems can occur such as nausea, vomiting and fatigue.

 

At Northern Neuro Rehab we can provide specialist therapy for known vestibular conditions, as well as general issues with balance and dizziness.

 

Vestibular disorders can affect people of all age ranges and symptoms can vary from mild to severe.

 

Vestibular disorders can be caused by:

 

- head trauma

- inner ear infections

- illness

- aging

- medications

- stroke and brain injury

Symptoms can include:

- spinning sensations that change with head position

- reduced balance

- nausea

- motion sensitivity

- headaches

- light sensitivity

- noise sensitivity

- blurred vision
