Spinal Cord Injury
What is it?
Any damage to the spinal cord, through trauma, disease, damage or surgery can be called a spinal cord injury. The type of spinal cord injury depends on the location and the severity of the injury.
Injuries can be complete or incomplete with therapy having a positive impact on both.
Following a spinal cord injury you may experience:
- weakness
- changes in sensation
- loss of joint range
- pain
- reduced fitness levels
