Guillain-Barré Syndrome

What is it?

GBS is a neurological condition where your immune system has mistakenly attacked the nerves, and causes damage to these.

This can occur following an infection, but can also occur for no reason.

People with GBS often have physical symptoms that affect their day to day functioning.

At Northern Neuro Rehab, we can provide specialist interventions to address these problems that you may face.

The symptoms of GBS can include:

- weakness

- altered sensation

- balance issues

- co-ordination problems

- reduced mobility

- reduced upper limb function

- reduced day to day functioning
