Treatment Process

Q: What should I expect during my first visit?
A: During your first visit, our therapists will conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your condition, challenges, and goals. There will be some questions and some physical assessments. Based on this assessment, we will develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs. We may need to ask you to remove some items of clothing, or roll up clothing items during the assessment (this is with your consent and not compulsory).

Q: How long will the assessment take?

A: Usually our assessments take around an hour, but this can be a little shorter or a little longer depending on your needs and the complexity.

Q: What do I need to prepare for my sessions

A: If you have a medication list or prescription, please have this handy. If you have any documentation regarding previous medical or therapy input, or any hospital discharge letters, please have these available too. If you have any splints or orthotics, please have these to hand too.

Q: What do I need to wear?

A: Please wear something loose fitting such as short sleeved top or vest and shorts or loose trousers/skirt. We may need to ask you to remove some items of clothing, or to roll items of clothing up. This is with your consent and not compulsory.

Q: Where will my assessment and treatment sessions be?

A: We will complete your assessment in you own home. Any following treatment sessions can be individualised to you – these can be in the home environment, in the community, outdoors, or at work. This is something we will discuss and develop following an assessment.

Q: How long does each therapy treatment session last?
A: Each therapy session typically lasts between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your specific treatment plan and goals as well as taking into account fatigue of the person.

Q: How many sessions will I need?
A: The number of sessions required varies for each individual and depends on the nature and severity of your condition, as well as your personal goals. Your therapist will provide a more detailed estimate after your initial assessment.
